Package Configurator (BETA)

This article will guide you through the process of creating packages in Geins Products (PIM).

Create a package quick steps:

• To create a product package, go to Products (PIm) > click new.
• Give the product a Name and click Save.
• Click in Convert to package
• Click on Configure package, to add products to the package.
• Add the products you like and configure the package as you like.
• Click save

Create package, detailed description:

• To create a product package, go to Products > click new.
  
  This product will be the container that will include the package products and be the one shown in categories etc in the webshop. When a package is purchased, the order rows in a will include the products in the package separately, the package will not be as one item in the order.
  
  
• Give the product a Name
  
  
• Ad a name in the name field the products items list.
  (it can for example be a - . This only is needed for creating the product)
  
  
• Click Save
  
  
• Click in convert to package.
  
  Now the fields relevant for the package remains. Here you give the package the relevant product Information, upload images etc.
  • Price -  The price you see in the product view corresponds to the lowest price the package can be sold for. For example if you have one product that has the price 100kr and one that costs 50kr the price will show 150kr. But say that you have the product for 50kr as optional, the price would show 100kr.
  • Stock - a package stock is based on the product included with the lowest stock available.
    
    
• Click on Configure package, here you add the products you want the package to include
• Click on add category.
  
  A category can contain a single product or a collection of products, depending on how complex the package is.
  
  For example, if you want to create a package contains only two products such as a notebook and a pencil. The notebook would be one category, and the pencil one. If you are creating a more simple bundle like that, the fields Category name, Description and the checkbox optional at a category often isn’t relevant.
  
  If you are creating a package more advanced with configuration where you for example want the customer to be able to choose wich type of product they want to add, such as a package including a poster and a frame. Where the customer gets to choose wich type of poster and also wich frame they want. Then the poster is a category and the frame another.
  
  

  Description of fields on a category:
  

  
  

  Main fields:
  
  Category name: The name of the product group

  Description: A describing text of the product group

  Optional: If checked, the customer aren´t required to choose product chosen in this category
  
  Produkt items fields:
  All these fileds are automatically filled with information from the product. Fields Name, Amount, Price and description can be changed. 

  Image: The products image

  Name: The products name

  Amount: The amount of items of this product that should be included
  
  Price: The price the item will be sold for in this package.

  Description: Describing text of the product.
  
  Default: if checked, the item is pre set in a list.
  
  

• Click on save when you are done setting up you package. 
  
  

Examples:

Example on package that contains a poster and a frame, where you can choose wich color of the  frame. 

Example on package that contains a chair and a  cushion
