The banner widget is a powerful widget that makes it possible to create content containing picture or video with text and buttons on.
Settings
Banner link - Here you write in the URL you want the banner to link to, e.g /your-campaign-page.
It's good to think about when you add internal link that you only take the last part of the link. So if you want to e.g link to yourstore.se/minicampaign then you put in /minicampaign in the banner link field.
Text & Button - Which text the banner shall contain and if a button shall be there.
- Text 1 - First row of text in the banner. Is not shown as empty
- Text 2 - Second row of text in the banner. Is not shown as empty
- Text color - Choose if text1 and text1 shall be black or white.
- Buttons text - The button text (Call to action). It's good to write a clear and concise text in your button so that your visitors can immediately understand what's going to happen or where they are going to when they click on it. Button is not shown as empty.
Text & Button placement - Where text and button shall be placed
- For 1 columns block (full width) - Choose to place text and button to the left, in the middle or to the right on the picture.
- For 2,3 and 4 columns block - Choose to place text and button either on or under the picture
Media
You can use video for one device type(mobile or desktop) and picture for the other. If you want to have video for both stationary and mobile, then you need to save Vimeo ID in both the desktop and mobile square.
Image - Here you upload the picture or pictures you want to use. Start with uploading a picture for Desktop, this will become the default picture. If you want show another picture on mobile devices then you upload it under mobile. If no mobile pictures are uploaded then the desktop picture will be shown throughout.
Image description (Alt text) - Write a description of the pictures. This is read by the search engine and by screen reader for people with visual impairment.
Video - Here you upload the videos you want to use. There is assistance from Vimeo pro (or higher) accounts. If you want to have videos from both stationary and mobile you need to save Vimeo Id in both desktop and mobile square.
- Desktop video - Video ID for the Vimeo Pro video you want to use in desktop.
- Mobile video - Video ID for the Vimeo Pro video you want to use in mobile devices.
Picture and video format
For the present we only support Vimeo for video backgrounds. If you want a placeholder picture while the video uploads, you upload a fitting picture in the image tab. We recommend that you keep the video short to be aware of the users internet connection speeds.
Recommended picture format is JPEG for the best performance. It's also possible to upload gifs but no picture website. optimization will be made to gifs so remember the affect on your websites page speed. Which picture widths that are optimal for you page is dependent on your pages design,
The pictures height is always dynamic, make sure that the pictures are adjacent to colums of the same height for the best results.
