Why can't I place a publish date on a product?

When you click on the "Save" button for a product that has the "Active" option crossed out, the ability to enter a date disappears. In this case, active products are considered as items that you want to make visible and available for sale in your store.

If you wish to schedule a later date for the product to be available, you will need to deactivate the product first. After deactivating, make sure to save the changes. Then, you will be able to set a new date for the product to become active again, allowing you to choose a date further in the future.
