Once your webshop is live, it is inevitable that you will encounter 404 pages that need to be redirected. This redirection holds significant importance for various reasons, particularly for SEO purposes and reducing bounce rates.
In the left menu of Geins Merchant Center, you will find the Settings menu, where you can also locate the option for 404 pages. This section provides valuable information about which pages need adjustment. Additionally, it offers the ability to export a list of URLs, which can facilitate the creation of a list containing the new URLs that can be imported using the Import Tool.
Once you have identified the 404 pages that need to be addressed and directed to the correct URLs, you can utilize an import process in the Import Tool section of Merchant Center. You have the option to either create your own .xlsx or .csv file, or simply download the URLHistory template directly from the Import Tools interface.
If you are unsure about which fields to include, you can conveniently access a detailed description of the columns that the system recognizes by clicking on the "View template description" option. This will open a pop-up window with descriptions for each column.
Once you have mapped each column to match the system requirements and started your import the 404-pages will be changed to the accurate address from your file.
